Birdcage

This is the first skate deck i've ever painted.  I always thought skate decks were a really neat platform to paint on so i was very excited to be invited to be a part of "Artists on Board" with ArtDeckCo  I'm amazed how many awesome artists are participating and i would love to see each and every one in person.
Here is the info for the show, on May 31-June 1:

Artists on Board is a touring skateboard art show based in Portland Or. featuring one of a kind skateboard decks by top local, national and international contemporary artists.

With close to 300 artists submitting one of a kind works of art on skateboard decks Artists on Board is the largest skateboard art show in history.

Artists on board is a 2 day only show. Saturday is the opening night geared towards adults 21+, Sunday is the “family day” geared towards skateboard and art lovers of all ages.

Visit the show's facebook event page for more info.
Thanks for having me on board!!!

Daniel Deathroll

Meet Daniel Deathroll!  Daniel is my third of three 3D monocle men made for my show at Blend Bar, and my personal favorite.  I love everything about this piece, especially his name (made up by the brilliant love of my life who had endless good names/titles for me to steal).  What makes Daniel especially special is his teeth.  They are real alligator teeth, which were not the easiest to paint around.  I'm so happy with the colors on this guy and just adore the frame.  Hate to sound full of myself haha but he is just one of my top personal favorites at the moment.  I was both happy and sad to see him sell on the opening night!

Patrick Pinkpants

Meet Patrick Pinkpants!  Patrick is my second of three monocle men for my show at Blend Bar.  Originally planned to be a head shot only, but i loved the idea of that tiny little body and thin dinky legs poking out the bottom.  I love the colors on this guy and the frame just completed him.

Bobby Bamboobelly

Meet Bobby Bamboobelly!  Bobby is one of three new 3D portraits of handsome young men made for my show at Blend Bar.  I love the idea of doing head shots of some Kritters with silly little faces, made officially fancy by adding some monocles.  Bobby is slightly based off one of my favorite Kritter paintings, Sugartooth from 2010.  I was given this frame by my sister, which looks so much like bamboo that naturally i had to paint a panda to put in it. It's a shiny(ish) silver frame so i made all of Bobby's accessories silver: his bowtie, monocle, and chain.  Had a blast sculpting and painting that dumb derpy face and was excited to find he sold after the opening at Blend.

Charles

Meet Charles.  Charles is so tired of being so beautiful.  He wishes people would see behind the feathers and realize he's actually kind of a grump.  He wants to be loved for who he is, not those gorgeous glowing feathers of his!

Mr. Fancy Pants

Meet Mr. Fancy Pants.  Mr. Fancy Pants is the most dashing little starfish you'll ever lay your eyes on.  He's an old fashioned kind of starfish, and he never fails to impress on a first date.  Or 2nd, 3rd, 6th or 10th date.

Franklin Spittleburg

Meet Franklin Spittleburg!

Franklin is a 3D painting i made recently to hang at Blend Bar & Bistro.  I wasn't thrilled with him once i was finished sculpting him, and thought maybe once i painted him i'd be happier.  Unfortunately i'm not crazy about the outcome, but i'm hoping somebody somewhere someday is!

BAC Girls

One of my newest series!  Blend Bar & Bistro in Hamilton, NJ invited me to display my art for 2 months in their awesome space.  I started this series specifically for the occasion and just loved painting them.  Had fun with the ideas and look forward to creating new BAC girls to continue the series.  They will be on display until June 28th in the bar, hopefully with some new ones before my time's up.  The middle wine girl "Victoria Vineyard" is already sold, but the two other lovely ladies are still up for sale.

The opening party at Blend was April 30, and tons of family and friends came out to support despite the monsoon (not exaggerating!) outside.  Literally puddles/lakes up to your ankles outside!  I'm so touched by all those who came by (and those who wanted to but couldn't).  You all mean the world to me and i can't express how grateful i am to be surrounded by so many supportive people in my life :)  There will be a closing party on June 28th, hope to see you there!

Recent Art Shows

Just wanted to share some photos from the most recent shows i've participated in.  I wish i could have attended all of them, but get to the ones i can!  I'm really excited and proud to be a part of each one, so i love to document and share the shows.

First was the Vinyl Thoughts "Unmasked: Secret Identity and Hidden Desires" show at Bottleneck Gallery.  Of course i was in love with the show, seeing as i'm a big vinyl toy collector and just love and respect the art of it.  As mentioned before, it was really great to meet Shelby at Vinyl Thoughts, who was an incredibly nice man i hope to work with in the future.  Also great to meet Joe from Bottleneck after being in several shows at the gallery. Can't wait for more :)

Sold :)

A few weeks ago the Hellboy 20th Anniversary Art Show opened at Hero Complex Gallery in LA. Huge crowd with artwork and appearance by the man himself, Mike Mignola.  Would have been an exciting and memorable experience to be there in person, but i'm so thrilled to have been a part of it.  Thanks so much (and Congrats!) to Chogrin who put together this amazing show and also Hero Complex Gallery.  Borrowed these photos from Hero Complex Gallery - Photos by Sabrina Noel Hill)  See the rest of the photos here

My Hellboy and Abe piece sold :)

One-Eyed Hellgirl (top middle) still available for purchase here.

Now here is a show i would have LOVED to be at!  The POPcade show at POPzilla Gallery.  The show was at Rothick Art Haus in Annaheim, CA.  All video game themed and i love every bit of it.  Especially the purple carpet entrance with some old school arcade games.  I absolutely love video games and all of the artwork is too fun.  So excited to have been a part of this and Huge thanks to Popzilla gallery and Sam Carter for the invite.  Amazing!
Not sure who photographed all this, but i borrowed off Popzilla Gallery's facebook-- see all the photos here.

Bowsy is still for sale here.

Piranha Pipe Invasion is still for sale here.

Really neat part of the show was the Video Game Vixens!  Artists were invited to do a pin up of one video game gal on 11"x14"x1.5" canvas to all be displayed together.  Love the idea.  My Mad Moxxie is on the bottom row (and still for sale here)

Thanks everyone for the continued support :)

Mad Moxxi

Meet Mad Moxxi.  She is for the "Video Game Vixens" section at POPcade show with POPzilla Gallery at Rothick Art Haus.  Each artist was asked to create a pin up of a video game gal on 11"x14" canvas.  Here's mine!  Mad Moxxi.  I have to be honest, i'm not quite familiar with the game.  But i know many that are and i fell in love with the look of this character.  I actually want to give her another try in the future..

Mad Moxxi is now for sale here

Bowsy

Meet Bowsy!  Bowsy is a 4" Custom Bub for POPzilla Gallery's "POPcade" Show at Rothick Art Haus, opening May 10 in Anaheim, CA!  An amazing show i'm stoked to be a part of, all video game themed and related.  Amazing.  Had a blast making him.
